HISTORY

God's faithfulness throughout the years

Throughout the years

Rogue Valley Fellowship was founded in 1992 by Dave and Joy Booye as a church plant of Trail Christian Fellowship. In the early years, the church met in a number of different spaces including a Campus Life building, a Seventh Day Adventist church, and finally settling in an industrial area on South Pacific Hwy. Over the next 30 years, RVF developed a reputation as a gospel-centered church with an emphasis on family and missions.

In 2011, Dave and the leadership sensed God was beginning something new: through prayer and the leading of the Holy Spirit, it was discerned that the current associate pastor Kenner Gotzman would move into the role of lead pastor. Over the next year, Kenner and the leadership continued to discern the extent of the “new thing” God was doing. During this time, God put a desire in our hearts and opened the doors for the church to move into the neighborhood of West Medford.

The first service was held on March 16, 2014 in Central High School, and we closed on the purchase of The Annex (church offices and community center) later that month. Over the years, through trial and error, we have sought to be a faithful presence and a prophetic witness of His kingdom.

On October 6th, 2021 we closed on the purchase of Ivy Street Chapel and finally have a permanent home in the neighborhood to gather together as a church on Sunday mornings. We view this purchase as a miracle from God being that when we first looked at this building it wasn’t for sale, and was owned by the LDS Church, who isn’t known for selling their properties. The process took two years of patience and faith, but the Lord was faithful and provided this building for us. It is just 1 block down from our annex facility and right across the street from the future Oakdale Middle School (formally Central Medford High School). We look forward to what the Lord has in store for our church and community in the coming years.
